Gig Harbor even has it's own boat builder - Gig Harbor Boat Works. It is the builder of a unique line of custom small boats for rowing and sailing. Their boats are modern reproductions of small boats used during the last century of working sail when people earned their living using only wind and oar.

And there's also a sailing club. So if you've always wanted to learn how to sail, know that it's easier and more fun than you might think!  At Gig Harbor Sailing Club & School (GHSC&S), the goal is to provide a club membership program that offers low-cost sailing that is a fraction of the cost of ownership and half the cost of renting.
